In search of oysters on Royan beachShould you take your first dip in the swimming pool or in the sea? That's what you'll be asking yourself when you stay at this campsite in France. The campsite is located on the French coast near Royan, 300 metres from the beach. You can jump straight into the Atlantic! Or you can go to the beach and look for oysters. If you fancy some fresh fish or a ride in a Big Wheel, walk to the harbour town of Royan.The beach at PontaillacCampéole Clairefontaine is located in Royan, on the west coast of France in Charente-Maritime. It's only 300 metres from the beach at Pontaillac, so a perfect location for a dip in the Atlantic. At low tide, equip yourself with a bucket and spade and go in search of oysters and scallops. They're not difficult to find here.Wonderful swimming in the shadeThe swimming pool has a lovely position among the trees, and close to the entrance. People of all ages can enjoy a swim in the shade. Next to the deep swimming pool there is a shallow toddlers' pool where even the youngest can splash around safely. There is plenty of space around the pool for an hour in the sun. Choose one of the deckchairs and enjoy the sun!Fish restaurants in abundancePlay football, basketball or table tennis together? That's possible on the sports fields at Campéole Clairefontaine. A pizza will go down well after all that sport and you can enjoy a bite to eat in the campsite's restaurant. But for some fresh French fish you can cycle to Royan in about ten minutes. There you have fish restaurants in abundance! There's a good chance you will be able to try some oysters. Back on the campsite you can enjoy magic shows and children's discos during the long French summer evenings.Another good point: you can use wifi anywhere at Campéole Clairefontaine (for a payment).Walk to RoyanHalf an hour's walk will take you to the centre of Royan. You can admire the marina in this harbour town or stroll along the boulevard. Don't forget a ride on the Big Wheel! There is a wide sandy beach next to the harbour where you can have a lie down in the sand. A trip out in the car will take you to Les Mathes where a twenty minute drive from the campsite will take you to Zoo de la Palmyre. A visit to the zoo is always fun!

Parkland grounds around an old castleThe word 'park' in Camping Séquioa Parc is very appropriate: the five-star campsite is situated on 45 hectares of parkland with woods and fields of sunflowers around an old castle. The castle itself and the outbuildings are a part of the campsite amenities.Authentic FranceThe Charente Maritime is situated on the west coast of France. Possibly not the most well-known holiday region, but that's definitely undeserved. It is a region with something for everyone: the campsite is located just 5 km from the Atlantic coast, by the beach at Marennes and just south of Rochefort and La Rochelle. The Charente is also a region of old fishing villages, oyster farms and culinary delights. Cognac comes from this region.Spectacular water park in castle settingIt is difficult to say what makes Camping Séquioa Parc so great: is it the stately castle, or the lovely swimming complex with its spectacular slides? 3 of the 4 swimming pools are heated! Swimwear such as long shorts, Bermuda shorts and T shirts are not allowed in the swimming pool.Wellness and fitnessThis French campsite is a real paradise for children, full of activity and fun. A children's club is available throughout the campsite's opening season. To celebrate the campsite's 20th birthday in 2017, Sequoia Parc opened a beautiful wellness and fitness centre: 'Les Brises' offers many opportunities for sportive activity or quiet relaxation.Sunny islandsThe surrounding area is variable and attractive.
