Quiet laps in the early morning ... On this page of zoekallevakanties.nl you can filter between the dozens of parks exactly what kind of pool you are looking for, no matter what season you go on holiday. Who doesn't crave a subtropical feeling in winter? Or a bit of cooling down in the summer? Can't choose? We help you on your way.
Holiday park with subtropical swimming pool
Subtropical swimming pools are still popular with holidaymakers because of the Dutch weather. For the warm and humid climate you don't have to sit on a plane for 12 hours, but you can drive there in no time. Often you'll find a wave pool (which child doesn't have to lie in it for hours after which you'll feel like you're still rolling in bed in the evening), water slides and currents you can let yourself be carried away by. In short: all fun.
There are over 20 parks in the Netherlands with a lovely subtropical swimming pool. Center Parcs in particular often has a swimming pool near the park, including in Zeewolde, Dalen, Westerhoven, Heijen, America, Emmen, Ouddorp and Zandvoort. Especially the latter is special because the swimming pool there is transformed 3 times a week into an Aqua Cinema where you can watch a splashing movie while floating in a rubber band.
At Roompot there are 7 parks with a swimming pool in Kamperland, Roggel, Domburg, De Koog, Kootwijk, Borger and Weert. Here you can often relax in a hot tub, take lessons in water gymnastics for the elderly, or visit special sauna landscapes with bio saunas and Turkish steam baths, as in Roompot Beach Resort. Please note that there are activities at several parks around November and December. If you come especially for the subtropical pleasure, you should definitely keep an eye on this.
Holiday park with water park
As well as subtropical swimming pools, there are also absolute toppers in the segment: the swimming paradises. One of the favourites is probably the poepieluxe Hof van Saksen in the Drenthe Nooitgedacht with the longest funnel slide in the world! This slide is 195 metres long and is a great experience for young and old. There are also slides where you can choose the light effects yourself, you can go down the steepest slide in the Netherlands and there are several tyre tracks you can go down. If you want water fun with the capital W, then you should be here.
Also Center Parcs has a similar subtropical swimming pool where you say: Aqua Mundo - the Meerdal has a slide 103 meters long, from the ceiling to the end of the pool. You can also relax in the herbal pool where the water is enriched with a touch of Anise and Lavender. Planning to go on a diving holiday next year or just want to learn how it is? Under the guidance of an instructor you can learn to dive here during the school holidays. This bungalow park with subtropical swimming paradise is highly recommended.
Landal GreenParks has a swimming pool in De Lommerbergen where you can make memories with your family. While you enjoy one of the relaxing whirlpools, the children run up and down the slides. For the youngest there is the Kids Jungle Pool or the toddlers' path. The Vennebos of Landal is another crown jewel with a Wild Wave super slide, Sufers Spllash Bay and the Wakiki White Water Creek. Try pronouncing the latter only 5 times without stuttering. The outdoor swimming pool is the best place for hot summer days.
Holiday park with indoor pool
Sometimes you want to be able to enjoy a lovely swimming pool, but have a little less need for super fast slides and wave pools. That is possible. Landal holiday has such a pool in Overberg. Here the paddling pool is separated so you can read a book in a lounger. Topparken also has modest indoor swimming pools in Noordwijk, Ede and Lichtenvoorde, the latter of which also has a gym.
Bungalow park with swimming pool
Finally, there are of course plenty of parks that have outdoor pools (or both) and we are happy to help with an overview. RCN has very nice outdoor swimming pools for children, for example in the Zeeuwse Veerse Meer: a true water sports paradise. The heated outdoor swimming pool is open during the summer season and has several slides and a separate water park next to it. At RCN 't Smokkelstrand they know how to combine glamping and a recreational lake with play equipment and slides.
In the summer season, sun and swimming are inextricably linked. Quiet laps for breakfast or kids competing for the coolest somersault in the water. Landal holiday parks has, for example, a fine swimming pool with a sunbathing area in the Brabantse Duc. But sunbathing and swimming of course also means relaxing and for that you can visit Duinpark 't Hof van Haamstede where you can quietly read a good book in one of the sun loungers by the water.
Weather or no weather
With the Dutch weather you run the risk that it suddenly starts raining very hard. You want to prevent the kids from getting bored all of a sudden. Fortunately, there are many holiday parks in the Netherlands with indoor and subtropical swimming pools. To still get that real holiday feeling in the summer months, there are also plenty of parks with outdoor pools. For the luxury horses there are also parks with wellness centers so mom and dad can enjoy a massage while the children can lose their energy with the splash.
