RCN het Grote Bos is a holiday park on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in Doorn. The accommodations here are located in a wooded area. And against a natural backdrop of a former country estate. You will also find spacious camping pitches here if you come with your own tent or caravan. The accommodations are suitable for 2 - 8 persons. You will find various types, from a safari tent and tiny house to a bungalow, a lodge and a chalet. Special wheelchair-accessible accommodations are also available. Depending on the type, you can take your pet with you on holiday.
At the holiday park there are plenty of opportunities for children to play with various playground equipment. There is also a heated outdoor swimming pool that is open during the summer months. If you want to be sporty, you can use a football field and a basketball court. There are also bowling alleys and a bowling alley in the park. The recreation team organises various activities in the recreation hall. And there is a holiday church to participate in. In the vicinity of the holiday park you will find plenty of nature. Take a walk on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Or rent (electric) bikes at the park and make a cycling tour through the area. You can also visit country estates and castles along the way. If you want to visit a city, you can go to Doorn or Utrecht to grab a terrace or go shopping.
Stay as a family with children up to and including 12 years in one of the many types of holiday homes to choose from. For example, you can stay in a safari tent with a bed box and play area. Or in a Finnish bungalow with an infrared sauna. You can also come with your own tent, caravan or folding trailer and stay on the natural camping fields. If you opt for a comfort pitch, you can enjoy your own water tap and drainage near the pitch. And there are special children's facilities in the sanitary blocks. At the holiday park there are all kinds of facilities and activities for young and old. For example, children can enjoy various play equipment and air trampolines. There is also a recreation team that organises all kinds of activities.
Specially for the disabled and seniors, adapted accommodations are available on the holiday park. These are ground floor and wheelchair accessible. There is a high/low bed in the bedroom, a kitchen unit in the kitchen and a toilet with wall brackets. In the bathroom you have a shower folding chair with wall brackets. If you come camping with your own accommodation, you can make use of adapted showers and toilets in the sanitary buildings. At the park you can meet other holidaymakers in the recreation room where, for example, bingo's are organised. And if you want to explore the surrounding area, you can rent electric bikes, among other things, directly on the park.
RCN het Grote Bos offers a wide range of facilities, both sports and recreational activities for young and old. There is a brasserie with a terrace, a supermarket and you can rent bikes.
RCN the Great Woods finds the community important and provides various moments for meetings. There is a cosy meeting place and a recreation room where all kinds of activities are organised. There is also a holiday church. Here, questions of meaning are central.
For children up to and including 12 years there are various facilities at the park. For example, they can walk the crumb trail together with the crumb trail club where they have to do all kinds of activities along the way. The recreation team also organises all kinds of activities during the school holidays and during the summer season. There is also a fossil field, a play castle, a cable car and an air trampoline. You will also find various playgrounds on the holiday park. And especially for children there is a bicycle cross track.
At a fee you can use the renewed mini golf course, the magic bowling alleys, the tennis court and the Survival course Hang-On. An extensive survival course has been laid out at various locations in the park.
In the summer months you can enjoy the heated outdoor swimming pool on the holiday park for water fun. You'll find a slide and a water play paradise for children. There is also a sunbathing lawn where you can relax. You'll also find a natural pond on the park.
