And you can also drive to the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, in just an hour. The ancient city of Zagreb in Croatia is also within an hour's drive from Terme Čatež campsite. And a few kilometres south of the campsite you'll find a beautiful woodland area that you can explore. The cycling and walking there are beautiful. What's more (the name of the campsite kind of gives it away): on this Slovenian campsite you will find real thermal springs. Bled campsite is situated in the heart of the Julian Alps and you'll have wonderful views of the mountains from your camping pitch. But it's not only the mountains that play a role in the fairytale, you'll be staying right by the water of famous Lake Bled. There is a small island in the middle of the lake with a tiny 15th century church. This makes the view even more stunning.A dip in the lakeWith the Alps in the background you can take a dip in the lake, and if you're staying on this campsite, you can do that every day. Be sure also to drive to the Vintgar Gorge, five kilometres north of Bled campsite. The River Radovna flows here through the steep mountain slopes. After an exciting walk beside the river you will suddenly be standing next to the sixteen metre high Slap Šum waterfall. If you're looking for something a bit quieter, drive to the town of Bled, on the other side of the lake. You can enjoy Slovenian folklore, great restaurants and a casino there.
