This fine holiday home is located on the edge of the village of Zonnemaire, on the Zeeland island of Schouwen-Duiveland. The house is close to a beach on the Grevelingen, where you can swim and sunbathe; ideal for children. The Grevelingen is very popular with water sports enthusiasts, divers and anglers. The holiday home is located in a small holiday park with 14 houses. Around the house there is a garden with plenty of space for children to play.Located between Brouwershaven and Zierikzee, Zonnemaire lies in the corner of a dike and is a small agricultural and tourism village with about 750 inhabitants. The village itself has a small beach on the Grevelingen, the 'Haventje van Bommenede'; a windmill and a café-restaurant "d'Ouwe Smisse". There is a lot to do and visit on the island. Not to be missed are: the beach at the Westpunt; monument city Zierikzee; the forest of Westenschouwen and endless bicycle rides over countless dykes. The island of Schouwen-Duivenland used to consist of four separate islands. For those interested in history, visit the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouderkerk (Zonnemaire was located in a rare dry polder in 1953); the bunker complex de Punt near the Brouwersdam; Slot Moermond in Burgh or visit and climb the fat tower in Zierikzee. Veere, Goes and Middelburg are also nice towns even on a day when the sun shines a little less. You can enjoy the sea and the water on the Brouwersdam; in the marina at Bruinisse; on the Grevelingen with its various islands where you can moor a (rental) boat or on the dike at the Schelphoek. Cyclists can enjoy dike routes along the south side of the island, through the dike waters or over the Zeeland Bridge and Oosterscheldedam. The Banjaard beach can be reached within 10 minutes by carLocated between Veersemeer Lake and the North Sea, the ideal base for water sports enthusiasts, forest and beach lovers. Traditionally known are the Kamperland dunes. Here you can take lovely walks. On the North Sea beach, you can sunbathe, play and swim. For surfing and sailing, you can also go to the other side of the Veerse dam: to the Veersemeer. One of the finest engineering feats of the 20th century is the Storm Surge Barrier. Definitely a must-see.Overlooking the Oosterschelde estuary; look left and right and you will see beautiful beaches. The Blue Flag on Banjaard beach (5 km away), indicates that the beach is among the cleanest in Europe. You need an alternative to the beach? The marina in the village is in direct connection with the Oosterschelde. From the clubhouse in the harbour you have a view over Krabbenkreek with its mud flats and salt marshes. Sint Annaland's marina has a Blue Flag, an European eco-label. The marina has 320 berths and plenty of facilities such as a clubhouse, a playground, a water sports shop and a sail-making shop. There is a nice beach and Sint-Annaland also has a Dive site.The surrounding area is great for cycling and walking. Explore the beautiful nature of Tholen via the many cycling and walking paths. There are routes leading past picturesque villages, polders and dikes. Visit historic places such as the town of Tholen itself, with its old city walls and the Grote Kerk church. Sint-Maartensdijk and other villages also often have characteristic historical buildings. Take a boat trip through Tholen's waterways and enjoy the view of the countryside and villages from the water.The location is also perfect for trips further afield. The Philipsdam takes you straight to Bruinisse, which is a nice route to take. Bruinisse has a beach on the Grevelingenmeer where many water sports are practised, especially kiting. Cities such as Middelburg, Vlissingen, Antwerp, Rotterdam and Breda are also about an hour's drive away. Bergen op Zoom can be reached in half an hour by car. Almost every year, Cadzand beach is voted the cleanest beach in the Netherlands. And of course, you can spend your days here doing nothing, lazing and sunbathing and occasionally taking a refreshing dip in the North Sea. And if the weather is bad, you can use the indoor swimming pool and sauna/wellness facilities opposite the apartment in Hotel Noordzee (for a fee). Cadzand has been known as an excellent health resort for centuries due to its healing waters. For instance, you can walk straight to 'Het Loze Vissertje' a delicious place to eat mussels. The town of Goes is 10 minutes away, where you can go shopping or have a drink on a terrace, or visit the subtropical swimming paradise Omnium and a petting zoo with a playground. For beach lovers, the nearest North Sea beach is 20 minutes away by car. The Banjaard in Kamperland is very beautiful, highly recommended.
