Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, each for 2 personsLocated between Brouwershaven and Zierikzee, Zonnemaire lies in the corner of a dike and is a small agricultural and tourism village with about 750 inhabitants. The village itself has a small beach on the Grevelingen, the 'Haventje van Bommenede'; a windmill and a café-restaurant "d'Ouwe Smisse". There is a lot to do and visit on the island. Not to be missed are: the beach at the Westpunt; monument city Zierikzee; the forest of Westenschouwen and endless bicycle rides over countless dykes. The island of Schouwen-Duivenland used to consist of four separate islands. For those interested in history, visit the Watersnoodmuseum in Ouderkerk (Zonnemaire was located in a rare dry polder in 1953); the bunker complex de Punt near the Brouwersdam; Slot Moermond in Burgh or visit and climb the fat tower in Zierikzee. Veere, Goes and Middelburg are also nice towns even on a day when the sun shines a little less.
