You can enjoy tasty Mediterranean dishes here with views of the sea.Olive trees and sheepThe island of Pag stretches out lengthwise from the Croatian mainland and has many beaches and small bays. The island is rocky and barren, and in some places it looks like a moonscape, with the white of the chalk and the white of the sheep. Pag has only a few trees, except for extensive ancient olive groves on the north side of the island where you can go for lovely walks. The island is also known for its many salt flats. Olive oil and sheep cheese are most important products on the island. Pay a visit a cheese farm and sample the typical salty taste of the cheese, or delve into the tradition of lace making. Older ladies on the island in particular are still engaged in this activity. You can buy the result in the souvenir shops you encounter along the way on your explorations.
