This is an excellent base for a healthy active holiday and for getting your breath back! Leisure and relaxationThere is an indoor swimming pool at Walkenried campsite for an early morning dip. There is an extensive playground for the children and there are several sports fields and a minigolf course. During high season, there is a varied entertainment programme. During the day you can take walks through the woods, past charming and almost medieval villages and centuries-old monasteries, and Saturday evening you can join in by the camp fire and enjoy a local lumberjack's speciality with the appropriate drink. If you come back tired but satisfied after a long day's walk you can relax in the sauna at Walkenried campsite. The menu in the restaurant has German and Croatian specialities. Picturesque towns and villagesVarious excursions are organised from Walkenried campsite, or you can choose to visit the picturesque towns and villages of Goslar, Kyffhäuser or Quedlinburg under your own steam. Or discover eastern Germany; from here it's not so far to Leipzig!
