There is a nice beach where you can go swimming and sunbathing. Water sports, such as kitesurfing, surfing, sailing and canoeing are some of the options. Take a lovely walk along the lake or explore the area by bike. If you'd prefer to go to a real beach, the expansive North Sea beaches at Rockanje are about a 20-minute drive away.Enjoy dinner in the restaurantAfter a day out and about you can enjoy a delicious dinner in the à la carte restaurant. The Lauwersmeer National Park is a stone's throw away and this is where you will find many walking and cycling opportunities. This is a perfect place to relax.Natural swimming waterFun in the water is part of your holiday. Roompot Glamping Lauwersmeer is not far from the Lauwersmeer lake. There are several beaches along the road towards Lauwersoog. The most beautiful of these beaches can be found on the Wadden Island of Schiermonnikoog. It's a great place to visit for a day trip. You can reach it in 45 minutes by ferry from Lauwersoog. The crossing itself is an experience. Who knows, you might even see seals on a sandbank.Orchids, birds and stargazingYou go to North Groningen mostly for its unique landscape of water, extensive meadows and woods, all of which are ideal for long walks and bike rides. Any number of routes have been set out in the Lauwersmeer National Park to bring you closer to nature. For example, rare orchids can be found here. Birds also use this area as a resting place and a place to find food. It's a paradise for bird watchers. The park is an official Dark Sky Park. This makes it one of the few places in the Netherlands where you can really enjoy a starry sky.Sturdy and comfortableThe sturdy safari tents at Roompot Glamping Lauwersmeer are made of wood and canvas and have a natural appearance. This makes the park blend in nicely with its surroundings. There is playground equipment in various places among the tents. The campsite is car-free, so you can let your children explore while you watch them from a distance in your hammock. You will need to leave the site for your shopping, but sandwiches for breakfast can be ordered at the service point in the former inn.Up to your knees in the mudIf you didn't see any seals from the ferry or if you want to know more about them, visit the Pieterburen Seal Centre. You can even walk out onto the mudflats. A walk through the mud is bound to be an unforgettable experience. The university city of Groningen (30 km) is also an enjoyable experience. You can stroll through the shopping streets in this lively city and soak up the culture in the museums and galleries. Round off the day by settling down at one of the many pavement cafes.

From the park you can walk or cycle in any direction to discover the countryside.Heated outdoor pool and laser gamesThere is plenty to do for all ages at Roompot Kustpark Egmond aan Zee. The heated outdoor pool with paddling pool is open in the summer months.The kids club is especially for the youngest guests. They can also enjoy themselves in the playground or on the trampolines. A large part of Roompot Kustpark Egmond aan Zee is traffic-free.For the teenagers (and adults) there is a table tennis table, and you can play laser games in the park.Climb the lighthouseThe holiday park is a 10-minute walk from the beach of Egmond aan Zee. This beach has a Blue Flag, which shows that the beach is clean and safe.There a lighthouse, built in the year 1833, in the dunes. In the summer it is possible to climb up the lighthouse on Fridays. Highly recommended, because the view over the dunes and the sea is beautiful.Supermarket and restaurantBasic provisions are available in the supermarket on the park. For bigger shopping, the nearest supermarket is one and a half kilometres away.If you don't feel like cooking for yourself, there is a snack bar and a restaurant in the park.Discover the areaEgmond aan Zee has an attractive centre with various shops and several restaurants. There is plenty to do for active holidaymakers. From the park you can walk or cycle in all directions to explore the countryside. You can rent bicycles at the reception of the park if you don't take your own with you. If you like the city life, Alkmaar (15 minutes' drive), Haarlem (40 minutes' drive) and Amsterdam (45 minutes' drive) are all within easy reach. De Goudvis Playpark is great for the children, and they can play indoors and outdoors.

Whether you want to go bowling, play mini golf, play in an indoor playground or try archery during your holiday, it's all possible at Roompot Holiday Park Hunzedal. Because there is so much to do, this is a perfect holiday park for both young families and families with older children.Fun in the water all year roundRoompot Holiday Park Hunzedal is located in Borger in the province of Drenthe. You can enjoy your holiday at this park with your own camping equipment, but there are also several accommodation choices. You can, for example, sleep in a luxurious safari tent, a comfortable bungalow or a chalet. The camping pitches and rental accommodation are located in the forest and close to the recreational lake. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful weather and swim in the lake, especially in the summer. But there is plenty of water fun even when the weather is bad. The indoor leisure pool is open all year round.Activities for the whole familyThere are plenty of things for the family to do at the park. Something is organised for all ages and (almost) all activities are free of charge. For the youngest guests there is an indoor playground where they can enjoy themselves. There is also plenty to do in the adventure hall. You can do archery, climbing or try to find the exit out of the underground maze. If you prefer to go bowling or play mini-golf, you don't have to leave the holiday park for this either. Round off the day with a bite to eat in the à la carte restaurant, or get something tasty from the snack bar to eat at your accommodation.Roompot RangersIf you are between 4 and 11 years old and between 1.10 and 1.60 metres in height, you can become a Roompot Ranger. Get behind the wheel of a real jeep and drive over the challenging course. An official ceremony is organised at the park as a reward for the young drivers; an experience they will remember for a long time.Hune beds and Tree Top WalkThere are plenty of things to do in the area around Roompot Holiday Park Hunzedal. Drenthe is the province of the dolmen burial tombs and the Dolmen Center is less than 3 kilometres from the holiday park. There is also plenty of beautiful countryside. Drouwenerzand nature reserve is 7 kilometres from the park and here you can take the most beautiful walks across the heathland. The amusement park of the same name, suitable for young children, is also close by. The Tree Top Walk (Boomkroonpad) is recommended if you are not afraid of heights. Walk along a 125-metre-long path between the treetops of the Drenthe forest. The highest point of the route is 22.5 metres. Are you brave enough?

And Roompot Resort Arcen is also an excellent destination for those seeking peace and quiet and for nature and history lovers. You could, for example, go cycling through De Maasduinen National Park or walking through the romantic castle gardens.Amid forests and heathlandsThe park is in a quiet location amid forests, heathlands and the countryside. Here, you can enjoy the atmosphere and friendly conviviality that is characteristic of Limburg. You stay a few kilometres from the village of Arcen, known for its beautiful castle gardens and the thermal baths. And for beer lovers, you can walk or take the bike to the Hertog Jan Brewery (4 km) for a guided tour and tasting. The area is perfect to explore by bike. There are lovely cycling routes along the River Meuse and through De Maasduinen National Park. If your bikes no longer fit with your luggage, that's not a problem. The exceptional shows in the park theatre are highly recommended.If you would like a tasty pizza or portion of chips after a long day of swimming and playing, you do not have to leave the park. After all, holiday means not having to cook every day.On an adventure in GermanyNow that you are here, a day out to the eastern neighbours is certainly recommended. The city of Duisburg is about a 40-minute drive away. In this old industrial city, they have transformed a former factory into an exceptional 'Landscape park' (public park). The Irrland amusement park is recommended if you are with young children. It is an enormous park with playgrounds, swimming pools and animal enclosures.If you like a bit if history, the old pilgrimage site of Kevelaer and the Roman excavations near Xanten are great tips. Or visit the Overloon War Museum in North Brabant that you can reach by car in 30 minutes.
