Just 500 meters away is the Dwingelderveld National Park, with its vast forests and 1,200 hectares of heathland. Dwingeloo, one of Drenthe's most beautiful villages with around 2,500 inhabitants, is mainly known for its Havezate "Oldengaerde" and the Sint Nicolaaskerk with its typical onion-shaped spire. In the immediate vicinity, you can cycle wonderfully; you are almost directly in the Dwingelderveld. Enjoy the peace and nature via the beautiful junction routes. Because there is so much to do, this is a perfect holiday park for both young families and families with older children.Fun in the water all year roundRoompot Holiday Park Hunzedal is located in Borger in the province of Drenthe. You can enjoy your holiday at this park with your own camping equipment, but there are also several accommodation choices. You can, for example, sleep in a luxurious safari tent, a comfortable bungalow or a chalet. The camping pitches and rental accommodation are located in the forest and close to the recreational lake. This is a wonderful place to enjoy the beautiful weather and swim in the lake, especially in the summer. But there is plenty of water fun even when the weather is bad. The indoor leisure pool is open all year round.Activities for the whole familyThere are plenty of things for the family to do at the park. Something is organised for all ages and (almost) all activities are free of charge. For the youngest guests there is an indoor playground where they can enjoy themselves. Drenthe is the province of the dolmen burial tombs and the Dolmen Center is less than 3 kilometres from the holiday park. There is also plenty of beautiful countryside. Drouwenerzand nature reserve is 7 kilometres from the park and here you can take the most beautiful walks across the heathland. The amusement park of the same name, suitable for young children, is also close by. The Tree Top Walk (Boomkroonpad) is recommended if you are not afraid of heights. Walk along a 125-metre-long path between the treetops of the Drenthe forest. The highest point of the route is 22.5 metres. Are you brave enough?

But don't let the children hear that!Start your holiday with a refreshing dipThe heated swimming pool at EuroParcs De Wiltzangh is the place where everyone can swim. And while the children are splashing around, you can relax on one of the sun loungers. A good way to keep an eye on them. Or to start on a good book!One large playgroundThis holiday park in the woods offers endless ways to play. Building huts, hide and seek or going on an adventure; children can amuse themselves in the playground. Or maybe they might want to play a round of football, table tennis or minigolf. This treasure hunt, which lasts an hour and a half, is full of educational challenges. True to fashion, you will be given a pointed hat, a beard and a rucksack.
