Many cycling and walking tours can be made from the cottage; the cottage is located on a cycling junction route. Various cycling and hiking routes are available in the cottage. You can also explore the area on a scooter or an E-chopper, for rent at Actief Twente in Beuningen. The nature reserve 'Het Lutterzand' is particularly beautiful and definitely worth a visit. Walk along the meandering Dinkel or cycle through the area and rest at one of the catering establishments. Het Hulsbeek' in Oldenzaal is also a fine area for walking, cycling or swimming in one of the natural swimming ponds. In winter, if it has frozen hard enough, there is an ice rink on one of the natural ponds. The centre of Oldenzaal is nearby, where you can enjoy shopping and find various restaurants, cafés and terraces.
