Stevensweert is an old fortified town and has a beautiful centre with many unique elements. It is one of the most beautiful villages in Limburg. It lies on an island formed by the arms of the Meuse and is therefore also called so. You don't have to be bored for a moment.Food, food, foodYou have all kinds of options to satisfy your hunger. In Horecacentrum Limburg you can combine good food with entertainment, such as live music, fairs and festive evenings. Restaurant 'Friends 'n Bites' has an extensive menu and a chic lounge. You'll be camping in the narrowest part of the Netherlands, with Belgium about three kilometres and Germany only two kilometres away. Beautiful cities within driving distance are Maaseik (12 km), Genk (40 km), Aachen (50 km) and Liège (60 km). Get yourself a dose of culture!All sorts of things to do in the areaThe forests and the hilly landscape of this region are perfect for beautiful walking and cycling trips. For die-hard cyclists there are enough well-known climbs to work up a sweat. Or choose a different way of being active and stroll through the two Outlet Shopping Centers which are half an hour's drive from the holiday park. Shopaholics will be in heaven in the hundreds of shops of the Outlet Center Roermond or in the pleasant Maasmechelen Village.Your children will be happy to hear that theme park Toverland is less than an hour's drive away. Also recommended is a visit to SnowWorld in Landgraaf. People of all ages can practice their skills on skis or snowboards here. Not such a fan of the cold? Pay a visit to Maaseik on the Belgian side, you can still enjoy a special beer with the locals in a brown café.If you want to experience a bit more, Roermond is a nice city. you can, of course, visit the well-known Outlet.Stevensweert and Ohé and Laak together form the Island in the Meuse. Here, the Meuse also immediately forms the border with Belgium. You could, for example, go cycling through De Maasduinen National Park or walking through the romantic castle gardens.Amid forests and heathlandsThe park is in a quiet location amid forests, heathlands and the countryside. Here, you can enjoy the atmosphere and friendly conviviality that is characteristic of Limburg. You stay a few kilometres from the village of Arcen, known for its beautiful castle gardens and the thermal baths. And for beer lovers, you can walk or take the bike to the Hertog Jan Brewery (4 km) for a guided tour and tasting. The area is perfect to explore by bike. There are lovely cycling routes along the River Meuse and through De Maasduinen National Park. If your bikes no longer fit with your luggage, that's not a problem.
