There are plenty of lovely passageways and monuments in this beautiful French town.Dream away on the riverCamping Sandaya L'Île des Papes is located in Provence in the south of France. The campsite is an oasis of green on its own island in the River Rhône. You won't be surprised to learn that the countryside is beautiful here. But it's not just the countryside around you that you can enjoy, you can also visit the loveliest towns in this part of France, with their many monuments. Campers come to Sandaya L'Île des Papes to enjoy the countryside and swimming, but the many lovely towns are also popular.A leisure pool for everyoneThere is plenty for children to discover at the campsite, including the water playground, naturally. Just opening the doors in the morning and hearing the birds singing and enjoying that beautiful view of the French countryside and your private pool (saltwater pool). How lovely is that ! The surroundings are beautiful and of course you get the wine from one of the wine estates in the area. Super central location with lots of nice villages and towns to visitUzès is a wonderful town-it's famous in the area for its Saturday market and there are great restaurants in the town and there is a friendly, very good restaurant in our village too. There are many well-signposted walks (f.e. to the etang de la Capelle, ideal for birdwatching and perfect picknick spot) as well as rock climbing in the village and you can go horse riding from stables a five minute drive away or kayaking on the River Gardon. There is a tennis court in the village. The nearby village of St Quentin La Poterie has dozens of art and ceramics galleries and the breathtaking world heritage site of the Pont du Gard is a few kilometres away. Avignon- with its stunning Palais des Papes and famous bridge is reached in 40 minutes as are Nîmes, Arles and Orange with their spectacular Roman amphitheatres.
