The campsite is located on the French coast near Royan, 300 metres from the beach. You can jump straight into the Atlantic! Or you can go to the beach and look for oysters. If you fancy some fresh fish or a ride in a Big Wheel, walk to the harbour town of Royan.The beach at PontaillacCampéole Clairefontaine is located in Royan, on the west coast of France in Charente-Maritime. It's only 300 metres from the beach at Pontaillac, so a perfect location for a dip in the Atlantic. At low tide, equip yourself with a bucket and spade and go in search of oysters and scallops. They're not difficult to find here.Wonderful swimming in the shadeThe swimming pool has a lovely position among the trees, and close to the entrance. People of all ages can enjoy a swim in the shade. Next to the deep swimming pool there is a shallow toddlers' pool where even the youngest can splash around safely. There is plenty of space around the pool for an hour in the sun. Choose one of the deckchairs and enjoy the sun!Fish restaurants in abundancePlay football, basketball or table tennis together? That's possible on the sports fields at Campéole Clairefontaine. A pizza will go down well after all that sport and you can enjoy a bite to eat in the campsite's restaurant. But for some fresh French fish you can cycle to Royan in about ten minutes. There you have fish restaurants in abundance! There's a good chance you will be able to try some oysters. Back on the campsite you can enjoy magic shows and children's discos during the long French summer evenings.Another good point: you can use wifi anywhere at Campéole Clairefontaine (for a payment).Walk to RoyanHalf an hour's walk will take you to the centre of Royan. You can admire the marina in this harbour town or stroll along the boulevard. Don't forget a ride on the Big Wheel! There is a wide sandy beach next to the harbour where you can have a lie down in the sand. A trip out in the car will take you to Les Mathes where a twenty minute drive from the campsite will take you to Zoo de la Palmyre. A visit to the zoo is always fun!

The campsite has various meeting points so that teenagers can also keep themselves entertained. Campsite Les Gorges du Chambon has a heated swimming pool which is surrounded by sun loungers.Your host and hostess will not only ensure you are given a warm welcome, they also provide a real holiday feelin excellent facilities, great tips for day trips and an excellent restaurant and bar. The restaurant has a large heated room and a patio with a wonderful view over the valley. You can ask your hosts all about the campsite, the area, where to find good restaurants and about the recreational and sporting activities. You can also hire all sorts of things; from practical items such as a fridge or baby package to a mountain bike or canoe. A campsite shop means you have a place to go for those groceries you forgot. Seven kilometres away in the village of Montbron, you will find all you need for a more extensive shop. You can do various activities in the nearby vicinity, such as horse riding, tree climbing, golf, quad driving, stand-up paddling and geocaching. Interesting cities to visit include Brantôme, Cognac, the lovely Périgueux and the comic city of Angoulême.

The castle itself and the outbuildings are a part of the campsite amenities.Authentic FranceThe Charente Maritime is situated on the west coast of France. Possibly not the most well-known holiday region, but that's definitely undeserved. It is a region with something for everyone: the campsite is located just 5 km from the Atlantic coast, by the beach at Marennes and just south of Rochefort and La Rochelle. The Charente is also a region of old fishing villages, oyster farms and culinary delights. Cognac comes from this region.Spectacular water park in castle settingIt is difficult to say what makes Camping Séquioa Parc so great: is it the stately castle, or the lovely swimming complex with its spectacular slides? 3 of the 4 swimming pools are heated! There are lovely small shops and restaurants here which you can take a look at.Cycle to picturesque villagesIle de Ré is a great island for cycling. Give the car a rest and jump on your bike for a lovely trip. There are two unusual places on the island; La Flotte (twenty minutes cycling) and Ars-en-Ré (three quatres of an hour by bike). They are justifiably both on the 'Loveliest Villages in France' list. La Flotte is a village in the east of the island and has a lovely fishing and yacht harbour. There is also a pier dating from 1840. Explore the flower displays in the centre and stroll through the daily market to find something tasty.Ars-en-Ré is on the west coast of the island and also has a lovely harbour. The church and clock tower are also worth visiting. Ars-en-Ré is renowned for its many oyster farms, and you can see how this delicacy is cultivated. You might even decide to try a really fresh portion in the evening. If you prefer a hamburger and fries, you can order that in one of the restaurants!
