Playmates are never far away.Cycle past salt flats and vineyardsThe area around the campsite offers plenty of opportunities for trips out. The towns of Montpellier and Sète are within cycling distance. You will see plenty of birds and other natural treasures in the inland seas between these towns. This was formerly a salt extraction area. The old salt pans are now protected natural areas. The Gardiole is located further inland, this is a lovely walking area with medieval remains and even prehistoric buildings. And this is where you will find beautiful Mediterranean vegetation and lovely views over the sea. The vineyards producing the sweet Muscat wine are famous here. You really should sample them… Day trips further away include Carcassonne or the Gorges de l'Herault.
