You’ll be greeted by flamingos as soon as you enter. Beyond the zoo, there are lots of charming towns with attractions nearby, such as Bourcefranc-le-Chapus (18 km) and Rochefort (39 km).Breathe in the sea airWhat makes Camping Sandaya Les Mathes special is its proximity to the coast. It’s a perfect area for walking, cycling, and simply enjoying the fresh sea breeze. Be sure to visit one of the nearby islands too. The island of Oléron is particularly worth a trip. Known as the “Île lumineuse,” it owes its name to the way the sunlight beautifully illuminates its beaches. On the island, you’ll find places like Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, a lovely village to wander through.
