Lauwersoog, The Netherlands

Beoordeling
8.1 / 10

Amazing place between Lauwersmeer and Wadden SeaThe Lauwersmeer on one side, the Wadden Sea on the other. This campsite in the north of the Netherlands is situated in a beautiful spot. There is always something fun to do at Siblu Camping Lauwersoog. Especially for the children: the large indoor playground and water playground. Especially for you: the delicious food in restaurant Het Booze Wijf. This Groningen campsite is the starting point for a special seal expedition. You can also sail to Schiermonnikoog from the campsite.Between Lauwersmeer and Wadden SeaThe Lauwersmeer used to be called the Lauwerszee. This sea was attached to the Waddenzee. It was not until 1969 that the two seas were separated. The Lauwerszee was closed off with a long dike because people were afraid of flooding. The land became dry for a large part. The water that remained was called Lauwersmeer. You can celebrate your holiday exactly at the place where the dike was built. That is where Siblu Camping Lauwersoog is located. Quite a unique holiday spot in the far north of the Netherlands.Playing with waterA holiday by the sea is not complete without a dip in the water. So it's a good idea to bring along a swimming costume. Also for the children, even if it is only because of the fun water playground. You will find it next to the restaurant. Here the children can climb, jump, slide and play with water. Which is educational too. Is the weather not so good for playing outside? Then they can quickly move to the large indoor playground.Restaurant Het Booze WijfThe camping restaurant is named after the point where Lauwersmeer and Waddenzee meet. At that point, the water used to be often stormy and quite dangerous. That's why it was given the name 'Het Booze Wijf'. In restaurant Het Booze Wijf, you can enjoy a delicious lunch or dinner. Breadboard, steak or fresh fish: almost all products come from the neighbourhood. Very handy: the terrace of Het Booze Wijf is right next to the playground. So you can easily keep an eye on your playing children.Falling asleep with the sound of the Wadden SeaAt Siblu Camping Lauwersoog you can choose from a number of cosy chalets or one of the even more luxurious mobile homes. You can sleep comfortably with the whole family in these. Have a nice breakfast on your own terrace in the morning and then enjoy the whole day in and around the campsite. And in the evening, of course, it is fun to play a game together. And if you lie very quietly in bed at night, you might even hear the Wadden Sea!Cycling along the LauwersmeerThe Lauwersmeer route is forty kilometres long and passes right by the campsite. You can rent various types of bicycles at the campsite. The route will take you past lovely Groningen villages. There, you will receive a warm welcome in tea houses and on pavement cafes. And of course, you will cycle a large part along the water. So you will also see enough of the Lauwersmeer and the Wadden Sea.Seal spotting and bird watchingA really special experience is a seal expedition. Especially if you come across seals. There are plenty of seals along the Dutch north coast, so the chances are good. And if not? Then just enjoy the wind in your face and the view. A day at Schiermonnikoog is also recommended. You can sail there from the campsite. Schiermonnikoog is a wonderfully peaceful spot, without cars, with beautiful dune areas and bird-spotting locations. So take your binoculars and walk towards the Westerplas, the place to be for bird spotters.

Renswoude, The Netherlands

Luxury in the Utrecht countrysideCombine camping in nature with the luxury of swimming pool and villa tent? This campsite in Renswoude is situated between the Veluwe and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and has it all. A beautiful place to unwind, in the middle of nature. Recreatiepark De Lucht is fun for children. Especially the swimming pool is popular. But the petting zoo and playgrounds also provide hours of fun. And the large play forest of course. Are you in need of extra luxury? Then camp in an extra large villa tent at this Dutch campsite. The Grebbelinie: natural defenceRecreatiepark De Lucht is located exactly between the Veluwe and the Utrechte Heuvelrug. There is almost no better place for a campsite in nature. Over the Utrecht countryside you drive past farms to the campsite. Nice to know: Recreatiepark De Lucht is situated right next to the Grebbelinie. This is a defensive structure in which nature plays a major role. The enemies were stopped by flooding the landscape. The Grebbelinie runs all the way from the IJsselmeer to the Rhine near Rhenen.Swimming pool and fishpond: water in abundanceRight in the middle of the campsite is the biggest crowd-puller: the swimming pool. Not surprising that you will find many young camping guests here. Because whether the weather is nice or not, you can swim there. The sliding roof ensures that you only get wet from the pool water. Do you like water and total peace and quiet? Between the trees there is a large fishpond and a few streams. Here you will always find a quiet spot. Although the children can also build little dams here. As if you were on a campsite in France.Nature as the largest playgroundForests, sandy plains and lawns: nature is the largest playground here. Also fun: on the campsite there is an educational forest with all kinds of educational games. Children can still have fun in the open air. But of course there are plenty of play equipment to climb on. Young animal lovers will also find their place here. With roe deer, goats and even horses, there are plenty of animals to pet. Are they tired of playing? Then the whole family can have a bite to eat in restaurant De Gasterij.Luxury spots in the greeneryAre you going on a camping holiday with your own caravan? Then you can camp very nicely in the green. But you can also opt for the luxury of a large caravan tent. Here you have everything at hand: kitchen, hammock and delicious beds. And yet you get the real camping feeling. In a villa tent you also stand on a spot between bushes and trees.Out and about with your clogs onIn the vicinity of Recreatiepark De Lucht there are all kinds of 'clog paths'. Don't be afraid: you don't have to wear your wooden shoes. These walking routes are so called because they mainly take you along unpaved paths. You can walk along towpaths, church paths, even farm paths through the meadows. Often you come to places where you can only walk. Please note: dogs stay at home, because sometimes you walk on private property. And make sure you wear good shoes, because the paths can sometimes be muddy.
